Learn to Play for Folk Dances

Following a very successful series of workshops last year, which resulted in playing for a ceilidh as part of the Beulah Music Festival, we are back again with another series of workshops.

While we are happy for anyone to come along and join in, this will be aimed at players with three or four years of playing, and the emphasis won't be on teaching instrumental skills but rather on how to play together, how to play for dancing, and having fun with the music.

The workshops begin on Friday August 5th and will continue every Friday at 7pm until early October. Sheet music will be provided, though we encourage working without it, and tunes used will be from Wales and beyond.

This is part of TASC's Grow Your Own Tradition Project which is supported by the Arts Council of Wales and Powys County Council.
