A ceilidh in full swing at Llandinam Village Hall 2005
The TASC Administrator is always happy to talk about ideas. Here he is discussing serious matters
with former MP Tony Benn, in the council chamber at Newtown in 1992.

LLANDINAM VILLAGE BAND
The Llandinam Village Band has been in existence for almost five years but is like the knife with four new
handles and three new blades. It is loosely led by Philip Freeman
but its repertoire and deployment depend on the musicians who come together for particular events.
Recent outings have been at celebrations by band members and, as here, at Twelfth Night 2007
(pictured, left to right - Andy Cairns, Mary Moylett, Dylan Cairns, Philip Freeman and Dave Bissitt).

If you have a project that the band might want to tackle we'd be happy to chat about it, but we don't do ceilidh bookings or weddings - we leave
that to the many excellent bands around (check Broadsheep or Shreds & Patches for contacts).
We do do the one-off, quirky idea, but we like
a few months notice. Sometimes, we can even find funds for an interesting project.

MORE
TASC generally likes to support ideas and projects, rather than stand-alone gigs. One invaluable resource is its Suitcase Studio
which can record almost anywhere. We've done village halls, churches, pubs & a river bank! Find out more on the
resources page
The SEVERN SUITE is a suite of dances and tunes in the ceilidh/twmpath idiom on the theme of the
upper reaches of the River Severn around Llandinam. We are putting together a workshop to teach the dances, so get in
touch if you would like us to come to your club or event.
TASC was formed
in 1994 as the outreach arm of the Mid Wales May Festival (1989-1998).
It aims to promote and encourage traditional
and tradition-based work
