THE TASC SHOP
TASC was formed in 1994 as the outreach arm of the Mid Wales May Festival (1989-1998).
It aims to promote and encourage traditional and tradition-based work

The shop aims to provide resources to encourage local traditions.

Instruments, tune books and tutors, and helpful advice can also be found at either Mid Wales Music Centre in Newtown or Mouse Music in Llanidloes.

Additional material can be found at the area's best bookshop (we think) the Great Oak Bookshop also in Llanidloes.

MEMBERSHIP

The Membership year runs from 1st November to 31st October, which is TASC's financial year.

The cost is £10 which allows you 20% discount on TASC events and publications.

THE SEVERN SUITE

A set of tunes and dances written by John Kirkpatrick and Karen Tweed for the village of Llandinam.


The book includes full instructions for the dances, music notation for thirteen brand new tunes, sample arrangements of some of the tunes and an accompanying CD.

Background on the village and the project itself is also included.

LLANDINAM - A GLIMPSE OF THE PAST

This is the book that was the inspiration behind many of the tunes and dances in The Severn Suite. If you want to know more about the famous Davies family, the lives of colourful individuals - and the occasional pig - this is the book for you.

Written by Jeremy Pryce, himself the son of the village blacksmith, it contains a wealth of fascinating maps, documents and photographs.
